A pre-shipment plush checklist for importers
A pre-shipment check is most useful when the inspector has an agreed reference. Prepare the criteria during sample approval, rather than waiting until packing day.

Confirm the reference version
Check the style code, approved sample and final specification. Include any authorised production changes. Keep a separate record for each colour or size, and agree on the inspection sampling approach, defect classification and response to findings for the order.
Review the finished product
- Does the shape and expression match the approved sample?
- Are dimensions checked using the agreed method and limits?
- Are fabric, colour, embroidery and printing correct?
- Have seams, filling and attachments been assessed against the agreed criteria?
- Do labels and hangtags belong to the correct style?
These questions support a workmanship review. They do not replace specialist product tests. Where testing is requested, confirm that the report covers the relevant sample, materials and scope.
Check the packed order
Verify quantities, style separation, carton markings and the packing method. If compression is proposed for transport, review shape recovery in advance and agree on unpacking instructions. Avoid last-minute packing changes without considering their effect on the product.
Record and close out findings
Identify the issue, affected styles and agreed corrective action. Confirm corrections before handover as required by the order terms. Send Phat Dat your inspection checklist and schedule early so both teams can prepare, especially for multi-style or urgent shipments.
